"The Gooddess" Screening at The Chinese Taipei Film Archive.
A silence film starring Ruan, Ling-Yu reproduced by Dr. Richard Meyer describe a mother whose background is misery and earns money through her body. However, she is eager to let her son to be educated and have a hope that her son shouldn't be excluded on account of her.
Firstly, during 70 mins screening, what came to my mind is a silence art. Only few cards and the new composed piano music transfer the emotions to the audience. That's really a different experience. Well, maybe in 1930s, more than one generation gap is produced not only in the expression to love but also the attitude to life.
Who I am? The person reflected in the mirror is true or false. Where do I go? Toward?
People always say that there is a will, there is a way. But I was confused and struggled for the life. Sometimes I am wondering that if I wasn't born, there will be no pain. Everyone has his or her own endorsement. What do I have, god? Now, I am under the torture and I praise to you. Does it work?
You know that you are truthful and dependable and we are all on the right seats arranged by you. But I am affraid about my life. The frustrattions I encountered last days make me disapointed to life. Would you help me? I beg for you.
